Center Players

PRODUCED AUGUST 2009
Written by: Ken Ludwig — Directed by: Anthony Greco

SYNOPSIS: This laugh-out-loud fast-paced comedy is adapted from the 1934 motion picture of the same name starring John Barrymore and Carole Lombard. Bankrupt, with his career on a downslide, egomaniacal Broadway director Oscar Jaffe (Kevin Walsh) boards the Twentieth Century Limited and encounters his former discovery and ex-chorus girl Lily Garland (Michele Kallman), now a temper-mental Hollywood star, on the train. He pulls out all the stops in persuading her to return to Broadway in his upcoming show, even though he has no idea what it is! Now the laughs really begin to cascade, with Oscar, Lily, and a wide variety of eccentrics played by: Colleen DeFelice, Jeff Caplan, Paul Nixon, David Fusco, Bill Golda, Ray Sammak, Michele Danna, and David Pinkus as they chase each other around the Twentieth Century as it speeds its way from Chicago to New York.
Produced by Special Arrangements with Samuel French, Inc.

Joe and Dfam: love you! Enjoy!

David Fusco (George Smith) is excited to be working with Center Street Players and a part of the cast for Twentieth Century.  Although he was involved in various performances during his youth, this marks his first community theatre production.  He has since focused his energy and passion on teaching biology and biotechnology.  He also remains a very active member of his church and is part of its worship team.

Bill Golda (Conductor) is very happy to be making his debut with Center Players!  Bill began acting five years ago when Monmouth Players gave him the opportunity to play the role of Turkel in One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. Dave Pinkus (Porter/Beard/Detective/Max Jacobs) is excited to be in his first community theater production.  Although a high school science teacher by day he has appeared in faculty productions of Grease (Doody) and The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow) directed by Anthony Greco.  Prior to becoming a teacher, Dave worked as a political operative and an environmental scientist.  As the Howell Rebel, in the early 90s, Dave was named the International
Cheerleading Federation's Mascot of the Year.  When not teaching (or rehearsing) he works on rehabilitating his 200 year old house in Howell, collects fossils, and plays the guitar.  He blames Anthony and fellow castmate Dave for asking him to be in this production.
