  MEET THE CAST :

Raymond Sammak (Nat)
Ray began acting on a dare from a friend at College. His first role was the lead in Shakespeare’s Macbeth followed by appearances in The Three Penny Opera, The Odd Couple, and The Chairs by Samuel Beckett. In New York City Ray studied acting with William Esper at The Neighborhood Playhouse, Weist-Barron Studios, HB Studios and with Marion Brasch. He appeared in several Off-Off Broadway productions including The Marathon, Ward Six, Cain and Artyom, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Shade. In 1978 Ray completed and internship at the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival appearing as Bernardo in Hamlet opposite Eric Booth of the famous Booth acting family. He also appeared in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, The Country Girl, Arms and the Man, and The Love of Four Colonels. Ray returned to the stage in 2008 appearing in Center Players production of Driving Miss Daisy and The Odd Couple – Female Version. In 2009 he also appeared in 20th Century and 12 Angry Men.

Raymond Dothard (Midge)
Ray presently lives in Millstone Twp. NJ. He is a 34 year resident of Monmouth County. He is a retired Commercial Airline Pilot and a retired Fighter Pilot for the USAF and the NJANG. He is presently employed as an Aviation Safety Inspector with the FAA. Ray is very happy to be appearing at Center Players in I'm Not Rappaport as Midge Carter. Ray was last seen at Center Players in Driving Miss Daisyas Hoke Coleburn in 2008. Ray has been seen in several other plays around the county including, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's, A Few Good Men, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Boys Next Door and Don't Mention My Name, to name a few. Ray has wanted to play Midge Carter in I'm Not Rappaport since doing the part at Brookdale Community College several years ago. He thanks Director Bernice Garfield-Szita for casting him in this role. He is happy to work with such wonderful cast and thanks the staff and everyone else for their hard work on this production. He also thanks his wife, Monica and his friends for their support. Enjoy the show.

Mark Peters (Danforth)
Mark was born in Eastern Europe and immigrated to America over 30 years ago to give his family a chance to obtain a better life. While working on his second Master’s Degree and then Doctorate degree, he taught Mathematics and Computer Science at North Carolina State University. Mark started to work for Bell Laboratories as a Scientist over 23 years ago and is still with AT&T as Senior Manager. He is responsible for the new technology planning and development for the AT&T optical network around the world. Mark loves his work as well as theater.  Mark first got involved with Center Playhouse two years ago. Since that time he has participated in bringing to life many Center Players’ productions such as The Odd Couple – Female Version, 20th Century, 12 Angry Men, The Vagina Monologues. His responsibilities included building the sets and working lights and sound. Mark also enjoyed playing one of the characters in the Jolly Trolley in December 2009. In this production of I’m Not Rappaport, Mark plays the role of Peter Danforth and is also part of the set design team who brought the Central Park atmosphere to the stage. Mark would like to extend thanks to Director Bernice Garfield-Szita, for this opportunity, to the cast and crew involved in the production, and special to his biggest supporter, his wife Cristina.

Lindsay Wagner (Laurie - some performances)
Lindsay is so proud to be in her third production with Center Players.  Previously, she performed in The Vagina Monologues and played the role of Ana in Real Women Have Curves.  She’d like to thank Danielle for being such an awesome “co-Laurie”, her Director, Bernice, and the rest of the production staff and Center Players’ family.  Lindsay is a social worker and lives in Monmouth County.

Danielle Capolon (Laurie - some performances)
After a lengthy hiatus, Danielle is thrilled to be back on Center Players stage! She's remained active in the theater community, appearing in several independent films, television pilots, and an Off-Broadway production of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress. She sends her heartfelt thanks to Bernice for allowing her to share this role with Lindsay, and to the rest of the cast for their talent, dedication, and friendship. Break a leg everyone!!

Anthony Woodcock (Gilley)
I am a senior at Central Regional High School. This is my first performance in a play. I’m very excited to work with such talented actors and I am truly enjoying the experience. I’ve taken acting courses at the Count Basie Theatre as well as Barbizon and during my junior year in high school. I would like to pursue a career in acting and writing. I am currently in the process of writing a series of supernatural novels. I am grateful for this opportunity.

Lisa DiLeo (Clara)
This is Lisa's second performance with Center Players.  Her first was the infamous redhead in Catch Me if You Can.  She is thrilled to be performing the role of Clara in this meaningful play.  In her spare time, Lisa enjoys teaching at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center and, as always, cherishes the love and support of her children, Emma and Matthias.

Ricky Selterman (Cowboy)
"Ricky has played Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof and Captain Hook in Peter Pan. He has done Shakespeare as an actor and director. He did Moliere's The Doctor in Spite of Himself, playing the lead part of Sganarelle.  Many other shows and parts. At beautiful Center Playhouse Ricky directed Hamlet For All Ages, Love, June, Spoon, Moon, bringing songs of years gone by to the stage. Lastly, Ricky directed Neil Simon's Odd Couple - Female Version, which was very well received.  Bette Davis said, "The real actor - like any real artist - has a direct line to the collective heart". Thanks to Bernice and all my many friends at Center Playhouse".

Bernice Garfield-Szita (Director)
Bernice is celebrating over forty years in theater. She is very proud to have been one the founding board members who opened the doors to Center Playhouse of Freehold in 2001 with a sold out run of Crossing Delancey. She is delighted with the wonderful award winning work that has been produced in the intimate forty-nine seat theater. She is thrilled to work with the superb cast and crew of I'm Not Rappaport who have captured the spirit of this amazing piece. She utilized all her directorial, artistic, and psychological skills to bring out the best of all who worked with her to create this beautifully crafted socially relevant performance. She is so grateful for the dedication of all the team members who worked many long hours to produce this show. She wants to thank her two leads, Ray Dothard and Ray Sammak for bringing Midge and Nat to life with such warmth and compassion. The amazing performances of the supporting cast has been a great joy for her to watch evolve. She is indebted to so many fantastic people behind the scenes who helped shape this show. In particular, Mark Lamhut, who developed the lighting and sound effects and took amazing photos and local artist Cristina Peters and her husband Mark, who designed and built a gorgeous corner of Central Park on Center Players’ petite stage. Of course she can never forget her wonderfully supportive husband Bob, who with his quiet strength, has given her the courage to attempt many daunting projects. Some other plays Bernice has directed for Center Players include; The Immigrant, Steel Magnolias, Real Women Have Curves, Lost in Yonkers, Driving Miss Daisy, Uncle Phillip’s Coat, and co-directed Visiting Mr. Green.

Bob Szita (Co-Producer)
Bob enjoys the behind-the-scenes work for Center Players. One of the founding Board members who opened the doors to Center Playhouse in 2001, he has continued to work tirelessly to support the theater as a board member, house manager coordinator, press team liaison and producer of Lost in Yonkers, Love - June, Moon, Spoon, Driving Miss Daisy, The Odd Couple: Female Version and now I’m Not Rappaport. Bob’s gentle but competent laid-back manner is always appreciated by cast and crew. He manages to guide and support each area of a show’s development to complete its tasks in a timely and professional manner. He has really enjoyed working with his Associate Producer Linda, who brings knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm to the tasks they shared.

Linda Saunders (Co-Producer)
Linda is thrilled to be a part of the Center Players assuming the role of Co-Producer for the first time.  She is fulfilling her lifelong dream of acting and was cast in the recent performance of The Vagina Monologuesat Center Players. Linda works in Information Technology in the field of Healthcare.  I would like to thank Bob Szita and Bernice Garfield-Szita for this wonderful opportunity as well as my friends, family and especially my children Aisha and Ryan for their love, encouragement and continued support.er.

Mimi Lichter (Stage Manager)
Thanks to Bernice, Mimi became involved with Real Women Have Curves as Assistant Stage Manager. Her next adventure was working Sound Tech for Mousetrap. Mimi feels she found her real home in Center Players as Stage Manager, Mentor, or as part of the backstage crew. She was the Stage Manager for Hamlet, Lost In Yonkers, On Golden Pond, Children of a Lesser God, Catch Me If You Can, Twelve Angry Men, The Vagina Monologuesand now for I’m Not Rappaport. Mimi’s other interests outside of the theater include gardening, photography, speedwalking, strength training, reading mystery novels, guitar, trips to Hawaii, California, and Alaska, yoga and tai-chi. Mimi is a retired Special Education Teacher and thanks to her involvement with Center Players, she is enjoying her retirement. “Being part of the Center Players Family has enriched my life”.

Joan Gordon-Chuakay (Assistant Stage Manager)
Joan grew up in Brooklyn with a passion for both professional and community theatre. Only recently has she been able to re-ignite that passion.   After two terrific years as part of Center Players’ fabulous, tech crew, 2010 has brought her two new roles, that of cast member in the recent production of The Vagina Monologues and now Assistant Stage manager for I’m Not Rappaport.  Outside of the theatre, she teaches English as a Second Language at the Manalapan Library, while seeking new job opportunities in Human Resources and Office Management.  She lives in Manalapan with husband Rene and daughter Stefanie.  I want to thank Mimi for her past collaboration and current guidance.

Cristina Peters (Set Design)
Cristina studied art and decoration design in Romania. During her over 23 years prestigious career as a designer and decorator she established herself as a recognized artist and won several awards. Her art and sculpture is in private collections in Romania, France, Canada, and the USA. She has her own art gallery in Freehold, NJ and is dedicated full time to prove that art can have a different form of expression. Her first involvement with Center Players was in December 2008 being part of the Jolly Trolley event. Since then she participated in every major production of the Center Players (The Odd Couple – The Female Version, Alice in Wonderland, The Queen B’s, Twentieth Century, Twelve Angry Men, Vagina Monologues, and now, I’m Not Rappaport) as set designer, set construction, set dressing, specialty props, special set features, and backstage crew.
