SYNOPSIS: A drama of great tenderness, charm and beauty, The Glass Menagerie is one of the most famous plays of the modern theater. Amanda Wingfield, a remnant of southern gentility, lives in poverty in a St. Louis apartment with Tom, her son and her daughter, Laura. Tom escapes his situation with alcohol and the movies. Laura, who has a "slight defect", lives in the world of her tiny glass pieces. Into this world comes a gentleman caller for Laura. For one brief time Laura's life is lifted up and she is happy, until...

    MEET THE CAST

Charlene Blevins (Amanda Wingfield)
Charlene joined South Street Players in 1989. She has been in four of their productions and received the Aggie Award in 2001. Charlene is very excited to be back and would like to thank Bob Lamb for casting her in her first dramatic role.

Holly Daugila (Laura Wingfield)
Holly is ecstatic to be making her debut with the South Street Players in “Menagerie.” She follows in the footsteps of her mother and grandfather, who are both board members. A Freehold Township graduate of 2004, her high school credits include: “Blithe Spirit,” (Ruth) and “ A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” (Puck.) Scheduled to graduate from Brookdale Community College this spring, being trained in classical and modern theatre She has just finished a production of “Midsummer” as Titania, along with participating in the Brookdale student directed one-act festival. She would like to thank her wonderful family, friends, excellent director, fellow actors, and everyone involved in making this show absolutely amazing. “ I love you all, break some legs!”

Matt De Rogatis (Tom Wingfield)
Back by popular demand, Matt De Rogatis returns to the stage, this time as Tom Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie! This is Matt’s debut with the South Street Players but not the first time he has appeared on The Center Players stage. This past fall, Matt made his theatre Debut when he played Detective Sgt. Trotter in The Mousetrap. Matt is honored to be working with Director Bob Lamb, and Co-stage managers Louis Palermo and Lucyanne Pallone. He thanks Bob Lamb for giving him an opportunity to be a part of this production. Matt additionally thanks his parents, Mario and Leslie for their undying love and support over the years, and Anthony Cipriano for everything he has done for him these past six months. Last and certainly not least Matt would like to thank his girlfriend Keri-Bo and his best friend Chris for all of the wonderful support and companionship they have given him.
Kurt Loegel (Gentleman Caller)
Kurt makes his triumphant return to the stage as Jim O’Connor The Gentleman Caller, in The Glass Menagerie. He is very happy to once again work with director Bob Lamb, Matt De Rogatis, Louis Palermo, and Lucyanne Pallone. This is Kurt’s second production with the Center Players after the Mousetrap during the fall of 2005. Kurt is still working at Fred & Murry’s Kosher Deli and attending Brookdale. Kurt would love to thank Mom, Dad, Eric, Robert Brown, Tony Cipriano, Sam, Shawn, Drew, Randy and the rest of Fred and Murry’s. Kurt is also honored to work with his two new fellow members Charlene and Holly.

Robert is the Founder and Chairman of the South Street Players. He wishes to thank Louie, Jim, Lucyanne, Sue and Fran for all their help and support. Many thanks also to the Center Players. To the cast --- “Break-a-leg!”

 

Lucyanne Pallone (C0-Stage Manager)
Originally from Staten Island she preformed in a number of variety shows and several plays since the age of 17. This past October she made her debut here as a stage manager for the production of “The Mousetrap”. The Glass Menagerie will be her second production here. She would like to thank her uncle Louie for getting her started here and also thank you to Bob for asking her to be part of the production. “BREAK-A-LEG ALL!!!)
  Louis Palermo (Co Stage Manager)
Louis is a member of the board of both Center Players and South Street Players, and is very proud to be able to contribute to both organizations. He has been involved in many productions as an actor, director, stage manager, set designer, and builder. This play reunites him with director Bob Lamb. Their relationship goes back a long way. Bob and Louis have been working together since the second year of South Street Players in 1983, Right up to the last Center Players production, “Mousetrap.” Louis is happy to be working with such a talented cast in this powerful play. “The work is hard, but to see the play develop from beginning to end is priceless.”
 

Dedication
The director dedicates this production of The Glass Menagerie to his dear friend, Diane Sugrue. She was a member of the South Street Players from 1984 until her death in 2005. Her love of the theatre was boundless and she is greatly missed.
