MARCH-APRIL 2009
Neil Simon’s famous update of his original “Odd Couple” starts with a group of women friends playing their regular game of Trivial Pursuit. This week, the meeting is at the apartment of Olive Madison, a divorcee who freely admits to being a slob: “I leave a mess when I read a book.” Late to arrive is Florence Unger, a stickler for neatness, who would try the patience of a saint. She has unfortunately just become separated from her husband. As life would have it, the slob and the fuss-budget decide to room together — with hilarious results! Through many ups and downs the two women are forced to agree on one thing — even the best of friends sometimes make the worst of roommates.
Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

Lorin Ottone (Sylvie)
Lorin is excited to be making her debut with Center Players in the Odd Couple: Female Version. She appeared in a few plays a long time ago at the University of Delaware and continues to "act" everyday in her job as a high school English teacher. She wants to thank Ricky and Joyce for giving her this opportunity to perform in such a fun show and the talented cast and crew for welcoming her and teaching her about acting and life. She wants to also thank her amazing friends who are always so supportive and easy to laugh with, her loving family who has put up with her "crazy" for years, and of course to Pete, Michael, and Emily, who supported her doing this show and fill her life with love!

I would like to thank Ricky and Bernice for their confidence in giving me this role on short notice, the cast for all their help in getting me up to speed, and especially to Mimi for always being there with help and support whether on stage or backstage. I won’t let you down. Love and a speedy recovery to Judy. You are missed.”

Michelle Catania (Olive Madison)
Michelle caught the drama bug when she was a junior in High School. She joined a drama class because she figured it would be an easy A. Little did she know her life would never be the same. Some plays she has performed in are; “Rose Alverez” in Bye Bye Birdie, “Myrtle Mae Simmons” in Harvey, “Maggie” in Rally Around The Flag Boys, “Sara Goldman” in Beau Jest, “Violet” in It’s a Wonderful Life; “Judy” in Send Me no Flowers and “Elizabeth Corban” in Catch Me if you Can. A special thanks to her husband and 2 sons for their support as well as lack of homemade dinners during the process… (Not that they get that many in the first place).

Ricky Selterman (Director)
"No one is really sure how Rick got here. In fact no one knows why they have allowed him to stay here. As an actor Rick has performed Shakespeare/Moliere, “Captain Hook” and “Tevye” too. He killed them in Bye Bye Birdie and The Music Man. At Center Playhouse (Rick's home away from home) he directed Hamlet For All Ages. The gods smiled/the angels wept. This past June Rick directed Love: June, Spoon, Moon along with doing the writing/narration and singing. After 6 sold out performances, Rick went to the rest home for a month. Directing The Odd Couple - Female Version has been a lark: great cast, laughs a go-go, and all those beautiful women!!!! Not a bad gig. Rick would like to thank god that he ran into such nurturing, warm, kind and lovely people. He's talking about Center Players. To Rockin Robbin, Joycy/B, and B/Bonnie and the entire Center Players Board, I am so grateful that "you came into my life".

Bonnie Riddell (Stage Manager)
Since her on-the-job introduction to stage management during Center Players’ production of Rumors, long before Center Playhouse opened its doors, Bonnie has been Stage Manager for many of Center Players’ productions. Strictly a behind the scenes theater person where she can play a necessary and very satisfying role in the production of a play from auditions to final performance, Bonnie is pleased to have been asked by Ricky to stage manage for this production. A member of the Board of Trustees, Bonnie is a retired nurse who enjoys RV travel, gardening, and her newest passion, making & selling her off-loom woven beaded jewelry. It is a pleasure to work with such talented and dedicated actors and crew. Judy, get well soon. A special thank you to David for supporting my theater involvement.
