RUMORS

The success of Center Players' Spring 1997 effort was evidenced by its sell-out attendence. Neil Simon's "Rumors" recently played to standing-room-only audiences during a two-weekend run of the hit comedy. The show was staged at the downtown area's hottest coffee house, "The Cornerstone Caffe."

CAST:
Bridget Fargo as "Chris Gorman"
Bridget, who lives in Long Branch, joins Center Players after a two year "break" from the stage. Some of her credits include: "Happy Birthday," "The Odd Couple," "Jekyll & Hyde," "A Month of Sundays," and "Play On." She hopes you'll bear with her while she discovers if she still has "it".
David Sorin as "Ken Gorman"
David, from Howell, is President of Center Players and has been acting and directing in Community Theater for four years. When not on the stage, he produces and directs corporate video programs with his company, Sorin Productions in Freehold.
Rhonda Katz as "Claire Ganz"
Rhonda has been seen in numerous Center Players productions. She loves the variety of characters she has portrayed and says she enjoys acting because, "it gives me a chance to escape the stress and demands of my job. I love to step into a character and become them." She thanks the cast for making "Rumors" so much fun.
Paul Deubel as "Leonard Ganz"
Paul has been active in community theater for six years. He has also been involved in several film and commercial projects. Paul is pleased and honored to be participating in Center Players' continuing efforts to produce quality theater for the Freehold area's enjoyment.
Bernice Garfield as "Cookie Cusack"
Bernice was a former art and drama teacher in Brooklyn and is currently Co-Director of Contemporary Counseling Center of Marlboro in which she uses psychodrama with clients and groups. She lives in Manalapan with her husband Bob and two daughters and is a living example that you don't have to quit your day job to enjoy drama.
Gary Hirsch as "Ernie Cusack"
Gary works as a probation officer in Monmouth County. He is a graduate of Brooklyn College, where he studied Psychology, English and theater. Gary played Ben Silverman in Center Players' premiere presentation, "The Sunshine Boys." Most recently, he appeared as a juror in Ocean County College's production of "12 Angry Men."
Elaine Formicola as "Cassie Cooper"
This is Elaine's first appearance with Center Players. She was last seen in the Two Rivers Theatre Company's pro-duction of "A View From the Bridge." She wishes to thank her teachers at A.T.I. and the Piero Dusa Conservatory for opening up this world for her and especially her family for letting her perform.
Harold Austin as "Glenn Cooper"
Harold, a successful businessman living in Lakewood, has had the privilege of acting with various theater groups in Monmouth County. He has appeared recently in "I Oughta be in Pictures" and "Breaking Legs." He thanks Center Players for this opportunity.
Terence Wall as "Officer Welch"
Terence, from Holmdel, has been a Benefit Consultant and Financial Planner for over eight (WOW!) years. His acting credits include the leads in "Gentleman and a Scoundrel," "The Spiral Staircase" and "Irish Minestrone." He played in the Off-Off Broadway production of Sabona, performs stand-up comedy and plays a mediocre piano.

BEHIND THE SCENES:
Tom Alexander, Director
Tom, a resident of Howell, is self-employed as an advertising writer and creative director. Tom has appeared in several productions over the past few years, and is excited about this, his first directorial experience. He is also a member of the Center Players' Board of Trustees.

 
Ann D'Arrigo, Assistant Director
From Freehold Boro, Ann is an actor, director and co-founder of Center Players. She was recently seen in the group's dinner-theater presentation of "Life, Love, Celebration!". Ann looks forward to the future development of live theater in exciting downtown Freehold.

 
Bonnie Riddell, Stage Manager
Bonnie, a Freehold Boro resident is an oncology nurse at Centra State Medical Center. Her interests include gardening and various crafts. Other than a small part in the hospital fundraiser, "Talent for Life", this is Bonnie's first venture into the theatrical world.

 
David Riddell, Stage Manager
After handling set construction for Center Players' first two productions, "The Sunshine Boys" and "Pizza Man," David has put down his hammer and picked up a script to work with his wife, Bonnie as Stage Manager for "Rumors" He works for Standard Roofing in Tinton Falls as a tapered systems manager.

 
Bob Szita, Lighting
As Co-Director of Contemporary Counseling Center of Marlboro and a Certified Psycho dramatist, Bob uses role playing to assist people in coping with life transitions. In real life, Bob plays the role of supportive husband to wife, Bernice and patient step-father to her daughters Pam and Stacey. Bob did sound for Center Players' last poduction, "Life, Love, Celebration!".
